Limiting Factor, Vescovo's $37 million Triton 36,000/2 submarine with a depth capacitymore than 100 times that of a regular superyacht submersible, will carry guests down 35,843 feet for $750,000 per person. It is expected to be delivered by late 2014 at the earliest.
The trench is a deep part of the ocean located between Guam and the Philippines. At 9,606 feet deep, it is the deepest place on Earth. The closest land mass is about 880 miles away.
Guam has extensive tourism based around its beaches and mountains, but also operates an active military defense system. The Triton 36,000 is being built by Vespucci in Italy and will be operated by Sea Explorer Tours.

For $125,000, you can take a tiny submarine to the "Titanic" shipwreck. OceanGate Expeditions will send small teams of "citizen scientists" on a 5-person sub to visit the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean beginning in May 2021. More than a century has passed since the RMS Titanic perished in April 1912. No one knows for sure why she sank, but there are many theories. One theory is that she was doomed by modern technology: the steel hull was thought to be too fragile for modern boats to break down. Another theory is that she was just unlucky - another theory presented by some researchers is that there was a large-scale meteorite attack that killed first-class passengers who would have gone overboard quickly, and last-minute precautions by the crew that saved second-class passengers.
Submarines were originally designed to travel under water to escape from enemy ships, but now they are used for recreational purposes as well. Some people enjoy exploring caves using subs, while others hunt for sunken treasure or history. Submersibles are expensive - typically costing between $50,000 and $250,000 - so not every person can afford one. However, more affordable options do exist if you are looking to explore the depths of the ocean safely and privately. A remote-controlled underwater robot is less expensive than a submarine, starting at around $20,000. If you are interested in the Titanic, then an affordable option is to watch a video presentation at a local museum or educational facility.
$55 for a 2-hour trip that includes gear fitting/orientation as well as about 1 hour on tour/in the ocean. If you are the sole guest in a certain time slot, you will be charged a single snorkeler fee of $20 when you book. Based on the final count, a fee credit may be issued.
The cost of snorkeling in Catalina depends on how many people are going out and whether there is any equipment rented separately. There are usually four main areas that people want to see while they're underwater: marine life, sea caves, submerged ruins, and waves. The best times to go snorkeling are between April and October, when the water isn't too cold.
There are several different ways to pay for your snorkel trip. The most affordable option is to buy individual tickets at the counter when you board the boat. A group rate is available for parties of six or more travelers who book a shared cruise. Private tours can also be arranged if needed.
All passengers must wear a mask when snorkeling to prevent spreading disease. You will be given instructions on proper technique at no charge before you go underwater. You should bring a change of clothes with you since there is no way to get back to shore if you run into problems.
People of all ages enjoy snorkeling. Children as young as five years old can go on private tours with an adult.
Adults pay EUR 16.50 per person, children pay EUR 22.50 per person, children under the age of four pay nothing, and elderly persons pay nothing. The entry provides unrestricted access to all activities. There may be certain height limits. Radio-controlled boats are available for an additional EUR2.00. Private guides are allowed at some sites for a further charge.
Children under four years old go free at most sites, but some have height restrictions so check before you travel. The entrance fee includes use of the excavations, exhibitions, and movies; there is no need to pay extra for these elements of the tour.
There are two main types of ticket: the "all-inclusive" ticket gives access to all the sites except for the Necropolis of Évora and the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória. The "selective" ticket allows you to visit only certain sites (for example, the Roman town of Volubilis).
The site of Volubilis is only accessible with a guide because of its altitude (1,750 feet). However, there are buses that run between 9:30 and 17:30 daily from outside the Palácio Nacional de Música in Lisbon, next to the Pousada de Lisboa hotel; tickets can be bought on the bus or from the driver. A one-way trip costs 1 euro.
