There is no walk-in service for US citizens in need of passport, citizenship, or birth registration services. These services are only available by appointment. Passport services are not accessible on weekends, in Mexico, or on federal holidays in the United States. Routine passport renewals take 3–4 weeks to process. An expedited renewal can be done in 2 weeks.
The standard application form can be downloaded from the website of the National Institute of Migration (INM). It can also be obtained by calling the INM at 1-866-521-6836 (toll-free in Mexico) or 066 from anywhere in the world. Filling out an application form online is free of charge; however, postage fees may apply. The application form can be printed out and completed in person if you have not done so already. If you plan to travel abroad please consider getting a passport as soon as possible after applying for one.

Renewal fees are $140 for adults, $70 for children under 16 years old. Payment must be made by bank transfer, credit card, or cashier's check. A $10 fee is charged for each additional copy required. All applicants will be provided with instructions on how to pay via bank transfer.
