Are restrooms open on the Florida Turnpike?

For your pleasure and convenience, our Welcome Centers and Interstate Rest Areas are open and maintained 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In general, the state of Florida's welcome centers, rest areas, and turnpike service plazas are provided with phones that passengers can utilize in the event of an emergency. These phones are listed in the driving guide published by the Florida Department of Transportation.

However, not all rest areas on the Florida Turnpike are equipped with phones. Those that are not equipped with telephones will have "No Phone Service" displayed on a sign attached to the front of the building. You should also be aware that some cities along the Florida Turnpike may have banned smoking in public buildings, which includes rest areas. For example, Tallahassee has a no-smoking policy and prohibits smoking materials at city parks as well.

Restrooms in turnpikes rest stops are typically clean and comfortable but they can be small so please dress modestly when visiting these facilities. Bottled water is available for purchase inside most rest stops.

Turnpikes generally try to place rest stops far enough apart from one another so travelers do not feel like they are constantly stopping. However, since rest stop locations are determined by traffic signals and not by distance, this cannot always be done.

Are bathrooms open at Michigan rest areas?

Rest stops are open 24 hours a day, provide a range of amenities and comforts, and are all within an hour's drive of one another. Restrooms, telephones, picnic spaces, pet exercise zones, paved parking places, and fresh drinking water are all available at rest spots. Some rest stops have gas stations, restaurants, markets, bars, fitness centers, laundromats, bike rentals, game rooms, music venues, movie theaters, bookstores, art galleries, and more.

Rest stops offer a variety of services to meet the needs of drivers for hours on end without stopping. Some rest stops have food trucks that can be rented for special events or gatherings, or provide heaters in cold weather. Some rest stops have small shops or pharmacies where drivers can buy snacks, drinks, or supplies. Others have laundry facilities, playgrounds, swimming pools, skate parks, basketball courts, soccer fields, and more. The only requirement for rest stops is that they must include: a bathroom, which is usually provided by a trailer with washroom facilities; vending machines, coffee shops, or other service businesses; and something to sleep in (RV sites, cabins, hotels).

Some rest areas provide showers and changing rooms, while others require drivers to bring their own towels and toiletries. Most rest areas with shower facilities also have hand-washing sinks for drivers to use before entering the restroom area.

Where does the Florida Turnpike meet I-75?

The Florida Turnpike finishes at Interstate 75 in Wildwood, Florida, south of Ocala. The Turnpike Main Highway (Unmarked State Rd. 91) in Florida is a 312-mile route that begins at the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami Gardens, Florida (Miami-Dade County) and finishes here in Wildwood, Florida (Sumter). The Florida Turnpike is officially part of U.S. Route 1, which runs from Mexico to Canada, but traffic signals on the highway indicate it is also locally known as Northwest 49th Street.

The Florida Turnpike meets I-75 at its northern terminus in Orlando. From there, drivers can continue north on I-75 to reach Tampa or south toward Palm Beach Island and Boca Raton. The intersection with I-95 is also known as "The Point" by locals who refer to it as such. The point actually has two interchanges named "The Point", one for each direction of travel. I-95 continues east beyond this intersection toward Charleston and Savannah, Georgia.

In addition to serving as an exit number for I-75, this area of turnpike also has several full service rest areas between Orlando and South Palm Beach County. These rest areas provide gas stations, restaurants, and convenience stores. The first turnpike rest area is located just west of downtown Orlando. It contains a McDonald's restaurant and a Super Target store.

Are the Narragansett Beach bathrooms open?

Yes, the beach is always open. In May, the bathrooms, office, and so on are open for business. In other words, you can go to Narragansett Beach at any time of year.

The only problem is that some facilities may be closed during low-season weekends and holidays. For example, the food court is usually closed on Sunday afternoons in August but there might be staff present if you call first. Same thing with Christmas and New Year's days. So check first before you travel out to avoid disappointment.

Another tip is to wear flat shoes when you visit the bathroom. The sand gets everywhere - under your feet, inside your shoes - and it'll ruin your day if you have to walk home in sandals or boots.

Still not sure where to go? Here are four suggestions:

1. Use the map on this page to find the location of each bathroom.

2. If you're looking for a particular type of facility (i.e., changing rooms), use the menu on this page to select an option.
